The Background of Internet
The internet has been described as a major breakthrough in technology, a revolution. The wonders of its millennia and indeed, the most flexible medium currently available in a technological era. It is international network of powerful computer which further turned the globe into a tiny village (Yerima and Mohammed 1998). Internet is a lot of computers connected to each other. It is, therefore a global network of thousands of computers, allowing worldwide community to communicate over any distance, to access information from any where in the world and publish text and images instantly.
The revolution of internet has suddenly enveloped industrial, political and commercial landscape of the world from its previous patterns during the pre-industrial ear to a whole new digital network (Maridell, 1989).

Mmeruwa (2001) put it thus; the internet is like to a room filled with many spiders, each spinning its own web. The webs are inter-connected that the spiders can travel freely with this image. The same way the internet is a global collection of many different types of computer and network that are linked together.

According to Ohakwe et al (2002), the internet is referred to as a global network of computers. This global network fulfils many and differing functions with the global network. It can travel places, get movies, theatre schedules, locate load friends, find a job, complete a complex research using the internet resources. 

Ejehoms (2002) sees the internet simply as a vast type of topics from news and current events, to entrapments and references achieves.

Nwogwagugwu (2002) further describes the internet as an international network of computers. It is a mechanism for transferring of data from one computer as the net is the world largest computer network.
Physically, the net is a lot of computers and other communication devices connected to each other using telephone lines, satellites, microwave and other devices and carriers, each computer, taking a common language or protocol by instead of transmitting point to point as invoice communication.

The internet exchanges digitalized data. The internet is a composition of millions of connected computer worldwide web from household PCs to huge company machines that only programs can communicate with tiny one web the right equipment can connect to the net and become part of it. Typical uses at home or work usually, only need to make a temporary connection, while large institutions maybe permanently connected (the internet advisor 2001).
Furthermore, Awake (1997) states that the internet is a good collection of many different types of computers and computer networks that are linked together. Just as a telephone enable you talked to someone on the other side of the earth who also has a phone, the internet enables a person to sit at his computer and exchange information other courts and computer network.

The internet can also be described as the information super highway. Just as a road allows travel through many different interconnected computer networks. As messages travel, each network that is reached contained information that assistants in correcting to the adjacent network. The final destination maybe in different city or country.

In furtherance to that, millions of other computers are all linked up via internet service providers. These range from multinational compares to home user in their bedroom. The internet does not have a central point or control centre. It is the sum of all its parts (Awake 1997).
2.2    Internet Resources
The Electronic Mail
A common resources provided but the internet is a world wide system of sending and receiving electronic mails, known as e-mails. Infact, email represents a large position of all internet traffic and is for many the only internet resources they use. How does it work? To answer the question, let’s review the ordinary mail system first.
Imagining that you leave in Kaduna and wish to send a letter to your friends in Abuja. After properly addressing the envelope, you mail it, starting the letter journey. If a postal facility, the letter is routed to next location, perhaps a regional or national distribution centre, and then to a local post offices near your friend.

A similar process occurs with e-mail. After your letter is composed on your computer, you must specify an e-mail address that identifies your friend. Once you sent this electronic letter, it travels from your computer to internet via the telephone network. Off it goes bound for various computer that act like local and national postal routing facilities have enough information to get the letter to a  destination, computer, where your friend can retrieve it.
Unlike the regular mail, email often reaches its destination, often on other continents in minutes or less, unless some part of the network is heavily congested to temporarily out of order.

The e-mail is the patronized resolves of the internet. It provides a means of communicating person to person through computer. The email is currently popular among the computers users in Nigeria and is a means of inter-personal communication that falls somewhere between this immediately of a hone conversation and the more thoughtful privates exchange of ideas such as writing letters and memo (Simon 1998).

Newsgroup/Usenet:
Usenet offers access to newspaper for group discussions on specific topics. Some newsgroup focus on buying and selling various consumer items. There are thousands of new, groups and once a user has gained access to UseNet, there is no cost to subscribe to them.
Let’s imagine that someone has joined a newsgroup involved in stamp collection, as new messages about this hobby are sent by other subscribing to this group, the message becomes available to this new comer. This person reviews not only that someone has sent to the newsgroup but also want others have written in response. If, for example some one requests information above a particular stamp series, shortly afterward there maybe a many responses from around the world, offering information that would be immediately available to all who subscribe to this group.
